MYANMAR'S Under-23 football team began their SEA Games campaign by beating Indonesia 4-2 at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday night. Playing in red, Myanmar opened the scoring through Shine Thura on 20 minutes, who fired home from close range with his left boot. Si Thu Aung doubled the lead 18 minutes later with a header, before Indonesia pulled one back through Abduh Lestaluhu, whose cross crept in at the far post on the stroke of half-time. Myanmar continued to dominate after the break, and scored a third through Si Thu Aung again. Substitute Kyaw Zin Lwin made if 4-1, before Ahmad Nufiandani reduced the deficit to two goals with a powerful finish from close range. Myanmar take on hosts Singapore next on Thursday, while Indonesia play regional minnows Cambodia on Saturday.
