18 May 2011: In an opening ceremony of the Global Falam Youth Organisation (GFYO), a total of 75 elderly people over the age of 80 were honoured with gifts at Rev. Thang Tsin Memorial Hall in Falam Town last Friday.
Salai Phun Hre Mang, Vice-Chairman of GFYO, was quoted by the Chin World Media as saying that it was not merely a ceremony of paying homage to the elderly but an important occasion where we had a chance to learn how to receive blessings from them.

"Through the ceremony, we would also like to express the fact that we are the people blessed by God to have a long life," added Salai Phun Hre Mang.
The ceremony also presented a reading session for 18 poems composed in honour of the elderly by youths from inside the country and abroad.
The Global Falam Youth Organisation was formed in Falam on 20 February this year in partnership with youths from other countries including USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, Yangon, and Kalay Town.
