Fighting has continued non-stop since 3:30 this afternoon between the Burmese Army and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) at Sang Gang, Kachin State, Northern Burma, according to sources from the KIA.
Sang Gang is in N’mawk Township, in Manmaw District, in Kachin State, which is close to Taping No. 1 and Taping No.2 hydropower power plants at Ta Hkaw Hka River (Taping River in Burmese).
This afternoon around 3 p.m. local time, Burmese troops fired first at the KIA Bum Sen stronghold. The KIA fired in response 30 minutes later.
No casualties have been reported yet from either side.
KIA officials at the Laiza headquarters said civil war will breakout across Kachin State and the rest of Burma from the war at Sang Gang.
