The KIA demanded all Burmese troops deployed at Hpun Pyen Bum, near the KIA headquarters at Laizia, and at the KIA post at Bum Sen, to retreat on Monday, June 13 by 12 p.m.
However, the former military regime Prime Minister and new President of Burma, Thein Sein, rejected the dead line which caused civil war, according to KIO officials in Laiza.
After the dead line, the KIA destroyed the temporary bridge at Nam Hpak Hka, which connected with the Taping (Ta Hkaw Hka) hydropower plants.
