Polling stations canceled areas recognize as "Vote Yes"

The local authorities, village's chefs with The Election Commission has marked the polling canceled in ethnic areas as “vote yes” to the Nov. 7, according to local sources. 

The Election Commissions being collected the families' name lists as “vote yes,” the sources said.
A resident from Deemawso said, “They EC and local authorities have reportedly approved these processes as “vote yes” in the name lists.”

All the selected areas are a long way to towns and unsecure areas and mostly are in rural sites. The selected villages are Loilay Lay, Dawtama Gyi, Konahn and Hoya districts in Karenni state.


Meanwhile, the UEC on state run papers The New Light of Myanmar on Sept.16. MRTV said polls had been scrapped "because the situations there will not be conducive to free and fair elections."
Locals are unaware of how to cast votes in the election. Therefore, the state election commission invited people to town and trained them how to vote in the election.

An attended villagers to the training of voting processes by the EC said, “They (EC) did not say that was a training, they just said tick and put into the ballot boxes. That was like a real vote.”

The polling stations in town sites areas are left. However, ten of each village’s villagers have been providing electoral training sessions. The State Election Commission trained the villagers to the Township Election Commission the early of this month in Loikaw.  The attended trainees are ordered to acknowledge to be set up their activities to train their owned villagers before the date of the election.
