The Karenni Army (KA) in front-line made the announcement that they banned the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) campaigning in several villages under its control, in Karenni state, according to the local residents sources.

A Loikaw resident said "I heard that shooting will be occurred if the USDP campaigning to the forbidding areas. All Kayah villagers in the Eastern were announced but in Western is still cool. And they (Karenni Army) planned to officially announce with letter, but have not seen it yet.
The Karenni Army announced that campaign would not allow take place in Dawtama Gyi, Dawtachar, Dawnyekhu, Dawphu, Dawpet, Taneelaleh, Dawtangu, Dawse, Kaylyar, Dawbyarku, Dawtada, Hteephoekaloe, Hteesehkaloe, Dawkulee, Lawplyarleh and Dawlyarkhu, which known as frobidden villages.
However, Be Htoo, a general of KA said, "There is no giving instructions to shoot. Especially their branch offices in villages we first though to shoot but calm it down because they are our national. We better admit the residents of the election processes, not to shoot."
Despite the USDP banned to campaign in villages, they invited village's chefs to come to the town then incentive that awards will be gave for mobilizing voters for the USDP in the ensuing general election.
A source with close connections to USDP party said, "They have campaigned in the main town sites. They promise the villager's chiefs that the roads will be constructed and school will be built."
