CCTV camera to monitor the movement of traders of Indo-Myanmar

Imphal, February 11, 2010: The State Government has decided to install CCTV camera to monitor the movement of traders of Indo-Myanmar border trade at Moreh Gate no.II and register the names of all the Myanmarese National entering Moreh.

Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, an official source informed that the decision to this effect was arrived at during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary DS Poonia today.

The meeting attended by DGP Y Joykumar, Commissioner (Home) V Vumlumang, Commissioner Revenue S Sunderlal, Deputy Commissioner and SP of Chandel further decided to allow movement of tourists from both sides of the border upto 15 kms.

On the other hand , another meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary today has decided to complete the entire process of disbursing compensation to the owners of the land acquired for construction of Integrated Check Post at Moreh within March 16 and hand over the task to the Assam Rifles as representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Accordingly, the district administration set to disburse the land compensation to 400 affected land owners from February 17 to 19.
