A total of 41 people from Burma, mainly Chin nationals, were deported to Burma by Mizoram police in the middle of May 2009, sources said.

The migrant workers were said to be arrested in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram State, India and its surrounding areas. Aizawl Superintendent of Police Lalbiakthanga was quoted as saying that the foreigners, employed here as manual labourers, were arrested for not having valid permits to enter and work in Mizoram.

One of the web comments read: "If there is a good political system in Burma, no one would flee to Mizoram and live there. Those who suffer most and are persecuted in Mizoram are from and among us. Let's not divide ourselves even though the boundaries divide us.

Another comment said: "Where is our notion that we are brothers and sisters?"

The Chin people, who have been suffering from the brutalities of Burma's military regime for decades, flee their SPDC-ignored places into neighbouring countries including India, Thailand and Malaysia.
