YANGON, Myanmar: An explosion at a guest house in Myanmar's biggest city has killed a man and wounded three other people.
An official says initial investigations show the Thursday blast originated in the room rented by the victim whom authorities believe was making explosives.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Three women renting a nearby room were wounded by the blast, which occurred in a northern suburb of Yangon.
Terrorism is unusual in military-ruled Myanmar. The government often blames rare attacks on opponents of the regime or ethnic rebel groups seeking autonomy.
Two blasts occurred earlier this month near bus stops in Yangon, Myanmar's commercial capital. There were no fatalities.
